November 9, 2007, Newsletter Issue #88: Rebuilt Vs. New Auto Parts

Tip of the Week

One way to save money when you are fixing your car is to buy rebuilt parts rather than new. When core parts are returned to manufacturers they retool, resurface and rebuild car parts to be as good as new. They merely save on their overhead by recycling what they can. You may feel wary of buying a rebuilt car part, but if you can buy a rebuilt computer, you can buy a rebuilt alternator. In many cases, the warranty will be there to back up the part, so don't hesitate. If you need to fix your car on a shoe string, go with rebuilt car parts.
